Accessibility Statement

This site is built to be usable with a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification, or no mouse at all.

Our standard

These pages target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

What that means here

  • Semantic HTML throughout, with a single main landmark and a logical heading order on every page
  • A skip-to-content link as the first focusable element
  • A visible keyboard focus indicator on every interactive element
  • Full keyboard operability — the navigation, the practice-area accordions, and the forms all work without a pointing device
  • Text and background colors meeting AA contrast ratios, with navy on off-white for body copy rather than light gray
  • Layouts that reflow to a 320-pixel viewport without horizontal scrolling
  • Text that scales to 200 percent without loss of content or function
  • Form fields with programmatically associated labels and descriptive help text
  • Decorative graphics marked as such so screen readers skip them
  • Animation and smooth scrolling suppressed for anyone whose system requests reduced motion
  • No content that flashes, auto-plays, or moves on its own

Known limitations

Two areas are outside our direct control. Our scheduling calendar and our payment portal are operated by third parties and we do not control their code or their conformance level. If either presents a barrier, call the office nearest you and we will schedule your consultation or take your payment by phone — those alternatives are always available and are not a lesser form of service.

Our legal research pages link to government and nonprofit websites whose accessibility we cannot control. If a linked resource is unusable for you, tell us what you were trying to find and we will retrieve the information and send it to you directly.

If something does not work

Call any office listed on our contact page or email contact@judicialadvocatesus.com. We will provide the information you need in an accessible format — by phone, in plain-text email, in large print, or in whatever form works — without requiring you to explain why.

Reporting a barrier

Accessibility reports are treated as defects, not suggestions, and they are prioritized accordingly. Include the page address and the assistive technology and browser you were using so we can reproduce the problem. We respond to accessibility reports within five business days.
